Novel Writing SOP (Unified)
Trigger: User wants to write a novel (architecture, drafting, or polishing). Goal: End-to-end guide for consistent, high-quality fiction.
Phase 1: Architecture (Simple & Core)
- Core: Logline (Conflict), Theme, Key Tropes.
- World: Keep it simple & relevant. Define only rules/factions that impact the plot. Avoid over-complexity.
- Characters: Protagonist (Goal/Flaw), Antagonist, 1-2 Key Supports.
- Plot: 3-Act Structure. Focus on clear Goals & Escalation.
- Principle: Use "Progressive Disclosure" (reveal details slowly) to prevent reader overwhelm. No info-dumps.
- Output: Concise outline, not a dense Bible.
Phase 2: Drafting (Scene & Style)
- POV/Tense: Strict consistency.
- Sensory/Atmosphere: 3+ senses; environment mirrors emotion.
- Techniques: Show don't tell, subtext in dialogue, active voice.
- Pacing/Flow: Hook start -> Escalating tension -> Cliffhanger end. Short sentences for action.
Phase 3: Polishing (Review & Enhance)
- Logic: Timeline, character consistency, world rules, loose ends.
- Prose: Remove filter words, prune adverbs, vary structure, eliminate clichés.
- Resonance: Verify stakes and emotional impact.
- Output: Revised text with change log.
